Blockbuster trades are a key part of each and every MLB offseason. None of those have quite yet happened, as the calendar has just turned to December.

That doesn't mean, though, that they aren't coming. It's more a matter of when and not if they do and when they do begin to unfold, the New York Yankees may be at the forefront of those conversations.

According to ESPN's MLB insider Jeff Passan, there are four players that could be possible fits in a trade involving New York. Those four include three pitchers in Tarik Skubal, MacKenzie Gore and Edward Cabrera. The fourth player is utilityman Bredan Donovan.

Starting pitching is an area that the Yankees had success with last season, as they produced 5.9 Wins Above Average, good for No. 1 in the American League and No. 4 in all of MLB. Still, though, being able to pull off a move for a back-to-back Cy Young Award winner only comes around every so often.

As for Donovan, he would arguably be a perfect fit in New York. A solid bat with excellent defensive versatility is something the Yankees have long needed, and Donovan may be the perfect player to fill that void.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is certainly not afraid to make a big-time splash. The addition of any of the four players named by Passan would be excellent addition for a New York team trying to get to the World Series for the second time in three seasons.
