The New York Yankees played well this season, but some glaring holes and injuries got the better of them. They started the season without Luis Gil and Giancarlo Stanton, and later learned they would be without Gerrit Cole for the year.

Anthony Volpe, while he did not miss much time, revealed he had been playing through a torn labrum, which may account for some of his struggles this year. However, he was not the only one. Much of the offense failed to score runs outside of hitting home runs.

Putting the 2025 season behind them, the Bronx Bombers have some work to do this winter. They have several key players that are set to become free agents, including Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham, and Amed Rosario.

Like most offseasons, the Yankees will not fear breaking out their checkbook and giving star players big contracts. According to Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller, that will be the case again as he predicts them to be one of the most active teams this winter.

"It'll be 'now or never' with the Yankees, who can just buy their way out of any impending rebuild. But it does feel like they'd better strike aggressively this winter, lest this window pass them by."

For starters, the club's attention likely remains on retaining Cody Bellinger as their top option. However, with their market, signing another star is not out of the question. They could sign someone like Pete Alonso or Josh Naylor to take over first base.

Many also predict the Yankees to largely restructure their bullpen after the chaos it caused this season. Doing all of this will not be cheap, and the club could be well on its way to being the biggest spender of them all this winter.
