The New York Yankees have been struggling a little bit as of late. After holding a 6 1/2-game lead in the American League East, they now face a 3 1/2-game deficit following a six-game losing streak.
New York is going to need to make some upgrades this summer if they want to make a push in the second half. One particular area that could use work is third base.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. is somebody the Yankees seem to prefer playing at second base, so it will be important to find another third base option.
Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report proposed the idea of New York calling the St. Louis Cardinals about Nolan Arenado.
"If they're already calling about [Sonny] Gray, they might as well ask about Nolan Arenado, Phil Maton and Ryan Helsley while they're at it, as those are the other problem areas the Yankees might need to address," Miller wrote.

Arenado has declined offensively over the past several years. He's hitting .244/.304/.391 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI and a .694 OPS this season.
However, he still provides enough power to be considered an impact bat. The dimensions of Yankee Stadium and playing for a true contender might also rejuvenate him a little.
What he lacks offensively, he makes up for defensively, as he is still arguably the top defensive third baseman in Major League Baseball.
He's a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner and has won six Platinum Gloves as well, so there is still value in acquiring him if the Yankees do show interest.
Arenado could also rejoin his old Cardinals teammate in Paul Goldschmidt, which could give the Yankees a significant boost in the second half.
It will be interesting to see how New York navigates the deadline.
