With Jesse Winker suffering a setback in his rehab, effectively ending his season, the Mets find themselves short on outfielders. To make matters worse, Tyrone Taylor was recently added to the injured list with a hamstring injury. Jose Siri also remains out for New York, currently rehabbing a fractured tibia.

Considering all of these injuries, the Mets may be interested in the free-agent market. Two possible veteran options out there are Eddie Rosario and Alex Verdugo, both of whom have spent time for the division rival Atlanta Braves this season.

Beginning with Rosario, the 10-year veteran has only played in five games for two different teams this season. With that being said, Rosario certainly knows a thing or two about playing in the postseason. Back in 2021, en route to a World Series title, Rosario took home NLCS MVP honors for the Braves. In 30 postseason appearances, Rosario is batting .289, with 29 hits, five home runs, and 14 RBIs.

Alex Verdugo played in 56 games this season before being released by Atlanta amid the return of suspended outfielder Jurickson Profar. Verdugo struggled with the Braves, batting .239 and striking out 31 times. With that being said, he's still shown flashes of his contact ability, tallying 46 hits. Like Rosario, Verdugo also has plenty postseason experience, playing in 25 games between the Red Sox and Yankees. In these matchups Verdugo hit .256, with two home runs, and 14 RBIs.

Although these two veterans may not be long term answers in the Mets outfield, their postseason experience makes them intriguing options for New York as they continue to battle injuries amongst their outfield.
