The New York Mets are fighting to make the postseason. With two games left, they are tied with the Cincinnati Reds, both having an 82-78 record; however, Cincinnati holds the tie-breaker advantage.

The Mets will have to dig deep as they take on the Miami Marlins, while the Reds face a tougher challenge in the Milwaukee Brewers.  New York must win these two games and hope the Brewers get the better of the Reds.

The Mets had a comfortable lead in the Wild Card race, but collapsed during the last few months. Since August 1, they have gone 20-30, and winning these last two games will be much tougher with the injury news from Saturday.

Unfortunately, the Mets will be without Brett Baty for some time. It was announced that he would be heading to the 10-day IL with a right oblique strain, via MLB.com.

"The Mets will be without third baseman Brett Baty for the final two games of the regular season as he was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain on Saturday. Ronny Mauricio was in the starting lineup at third base on Saturday as the Mets look to keep their postseason hopes alive."

Starting in Baty's place on Saturday was Ronny Mauricio. He will look to hold things down as the team tries to hold off the Reds. According to the article, the club also recalled Jared Young from Triple-A Syracuse.

Baty would certainly miss the Wild Card round if the Mets were to make it through. However, oblique injuries can be tricky to navigate, and he could miss a significant amount of time.
