The New York Mets have been busy in the last 24 hours. They acquired Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals and Tyler Rogers from the San Francisco Giants.

Those moves helped New York bolster its bullpen. Next on the list was an outfield bat.

They are ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies by a half-game in the National League East, but they are pulling out all the stops to ensure they'll end up at the top by the end of 2025. It will a tight race down the stretch.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the Mets have made their next move.

"The Mets are acquiring Cedric Mullins from the Orioles," DiComo posted on X.

In exchange, the Mets are sending prospects Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez and Chandler Marsh back to the Orioles. The Mets needed an outfield bat, and Mullins checks several boxes for them.

The 30-year-old outfielder has struggled a bit with the Orioles this season, hitting just .229/.305/.433 with 15 home runs, 49 RBI, 14 stolen bases and a .738 OPS. But he is a former All-Star and Silver Slugger.

Playing for a contender such as the Mets could help him potentially rediscover his stroke. Baltimore is selling after falling well out of postseason contention earlier this season.

Mullins was an All-Star back in 2021 with Baltimore. That year, he hit 30 home runs.

It will be interesting to see what the Mets do in the final two hours leading up to the deadline.
