Brewers announce Christian Yelich injury after being hit by pitch image

The Milwaukee Brewers began the month of June with a 31-28 record, good for third place in the tough National League Central.

Entering Sunday, the Brewers had won six in a row, including a 17-7 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on the road. However, things took a concerning turn during the series finale.

In the first inning, Brewers star Christian Yelich was hit by a pitch. Then, in the third inning, Yelich was pulled for a pinch hitter, per Curt Hogg of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

"Eric Haase is pinch-hitting for Christian Yelich in the third inning. We will pass along any updates when we get them."

Shortly after, Hogg gave another update.

"Christian Yelich left today's game with a right hand contusion, per the Brewers."

It's a big concern for Milwaukee, especially with the way Yelich has been playing lately. He had hits in eight straight games entering Sunday, including four hits in Saturday's blowout win and a walk-off grand slam against the Boston Red Sox on May 27.

It has been a slow start for Yelich, but he has turned a corner lately with five home runs and 13 RBI in the last eight games going into June.

The Brewers face the Cincinnati Reds on the road on Monday, so Yelich's status will be worth monitoring over the next day or two.
