The Los Angeles Dodgers made their first move of the trade deadline on Thursday with hours to spare before it passed. They landed right-hander Brock Stewart in a trade with the Minnesota Twins.

However, they may not be done just yet. Their starting rotation has been hit hard by injuries.

They could use another rotation option down the stretch with so much uncertainty. It may not be an ace, but Los Angeles would be wise to target another arm.

Jon Morosi proposed the idea of Los Angeles targeting Adrian Houser of the Chicago White Sox.

"It seems to me that Houser is probably a fallback plan for some of these teams like the Cubs, like the Yankees, like the Dodgers perhaps, who are engaged at different levels," Morosi said on MLB Network.

Houser is quietly putting together a very strong season for the White Sox. In 11 starts, the 32-year-old right-hander is 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA and 3.0 WAR.

He is on an expiring contract, which certainly makes him an attractive asset for any contending teams. The top arms available are likely Sandy Alcantara, Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly.

But as Morosi explains, if the Dodgers are unable to land one of those arms, then it would certainly make sense to have Houser as a fallback option. If he can remain healthy, he could be a good option to plug a hole.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the Dodgers navigate the final hours before the deadline. The moment is drawing near, and they need to do something to upgrade their rotation soon.
