Max Muncy is like the glue piece to the Los Angeles Dodgers' batting order, and the numbers back that up if you take a look at the team's scoring average with him on the field versus when he's not.
The Dodgers are set to take on the Cincinnati Reds in the MLB Wild Card series, which will be a best-of-three series at Dodger Stadium.
During media availability on Monday, Muncy cleared the air on whether he will be suiting up or not.
Max Muncy is set to play on Tuesday
Max Muncy has been dealing with leg bruising and has been in and out of the Dodgers' lineup for the last month or so. He also missed a decent amount of time earlier this summer with a knee injury.
“Everything feels good. I’ll be available for tomorrow,” Muncy said during media availability on Monday.
It's certainly been an injury-riddled season for Muncy, but October is when he has shone in the past for LA over the past several years. If you remember, during last year's World Series run, Muncy had gone a few games without recording an out.
It's also been an up-and-down season performance-wise for Muncy. He started the season in a big slump, but then made a switch to glassware and started to turn things around.
Despite all that, he still hit 19 home runs and drove in 67 runs in 100 games.
His .243 average is the highest mark in his career since 2021. However, Muncy has been struggling a bit to end the season, but it could be due to his injuries over the last month.
Regardless though, Max Muncy adds depth that the Dodgers lineup needs to be bad at this time of year.
