The Detroit Tigers currently own the best record in Major League Baseball at the All-Star break. They also have a 12-game lead in the American League Central.
With the trade deadline fast approaching, it's safe to assume that the Tigers will be adding pieces in the coming weeks as opposed to when they were sellers at the 2024 trade deadline.
They'll need to add a piece or two to their mix to maintain their position at the top of the AL. A big bat could help them out tremendously.
Nick Villano of FanSided listed several players that could be traded in the next few weeks leading up to the deadline. Among them was outfielder Adolis Garcia, and the Tigers were listed as a possible fit.
"We can see multiple teams near the playoff bubble targeting Garcia. Teams looking to take a chance without spending the farm will be looking at him, like the Cincinnati Reds. However, we think his hot streak continues and he ends up in a bigger market. Does he make sense for the Detroit Tigers? It feels like a fit," Villano writes.

Garcia has struggled this season with the Texas Rangers. He is hitting .234/.279/.404 with 13 home runs, 56 RBI and a .682 OPS, though he does have a 2.3 WAR.
Still, this has not been a typical season for Garcia, as he has seemingly fallen from grace in recent years. But perhaps a change of scenery could help him.
While Texas is in the mix for a Wild Card spot, the Tigers are in a far better position. The Rangers wouldn't currently qualify for the postseason if it began today.
But an extra bat in the Tigers lineup could give them the push they need in order to separate themselves from the rest of the Junior Circuit and secure their place as one of baseball's top teams.
This could cement the Tigers in first place in the AL Central and go a long way towards making them potential World Series contenders.
We'll see if Detroit shows interest.
