This season has not gone to plan as the Atlanta Braves envisioned it. They have struggled to get anything going, putting together a 65-81 record, which puts them in fourth place, behind the Miami Marlins in the National League East.

Atlanta has seen a good portion of their key contributors go down, like Austin Riley, Sean Murphy, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Spencer Strider. On top of that, their bullpen has also struggled, which is not a recipe for success for a team that inconsistently scores runs.

Manager Brian Snitker is in the final year of his contract and has yet to sign a contract extension. He is not sure if he wants to return to the manager role next season or move into a different role going forward. Luckily for Atlanta, some interesting managerial options are floating around.

ESPN's Buster Olney recently came out with a piece discussing possible managerial and front office moves during the offseason. Here, he lined former Chicago Cubs manager David Ross as a possibility.

"Some of the names that rival execs speculated could step into the skipper role include: Walt Weiss, currently the Braves' bench coach; former Cubs manager David Ross, and MLB Network analyst Mark DeRosa, who both have history with the organization; and Skip Schumaker, the 2023 NL Manager of the Year, who is currently working in the Rangers' front office."

Ross was the Cubs' skipper from 2020 to 2023, leading them to a division title in 2020. He also played for the Braves from 2009 to 2012, making him well-acquainted with the organization.

Outside of Ross, Olney also listed Walt Weiss, who currently serves as Atlanta's bench coach, Mark DeRosa, and Skip Schumaker. All of these could be great options and something fans will want to keep an eye on.
