Chicago Cubs' right fielder Kyle Tucker exited Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves in the seventh inning due to left calf soreness, according to Marquee Sports Network's Andy Martinez.
Tucker left the game after going 2-for-3 on the night. The Cubs' right fielder grounded into a double play in the first inning, but came up with two runners on in the third inning and hit a three-run home run to put the Cubs up 3-0.
Tucker then led off the fifth inning with a single before exiting the game in the seventh inning.
What's the Severity of Tucker's injury?
The Cubs would go on to win 4-3 on Tuesday night and after the game, manager Craig Counsel gave an update on Tucker's injury.
"No specific incident where it happened. It was a little sore before the game today, and just as the game went on, he just got gradually a little more sore," Counsel said. "So wanted to be just cautious at this point, and we're going to use the day and the off day tomorrow to see where we're at, but we'll see where he's at Friday."
Counsel didn't seem too concerned that Tucker's calf soreness would turn into anything long-term, and the Cubs' right fielder shared the same sentiment postgame.
"I mean, I kind of felt like a little soreness the last couple days or whatever, but felt it a decent amount coming into today. I tried to do some treatment stuff, try to get ahead of it, earlier, before the game and stuff, and do as much as I could," Tucker said. "And going into the game, it felt alright, and then just kind of, as game went, just got a little more sore, tight. And eventually I was just like, I mean I'd rather not try and test it much further and make it any more than it really is."

Neither Tucker or his manager seem worried. However, Marquee Sports Network's Taylor McGregor reported during the game after Tucker reached base on his fifth-inning single, and got out sliding into second base, he returned to the dugout and spoke with the Cubs' head athletic trainer.
Tucker did go back out for the top of the sixth to play the field, but did not take an at-bat in the bottom of the inning and was removed from the game in the seventh.
Whether Tucker aggravated his calf soreness on his slide into second base or not is speculation, but the worry level seemed minimal postgame.
After struggling since the All-Star break, Tucker got hot to end the month of August. The Cubs' right fielder had a hit in eight of the last nine games of the month and hit over .400 during that stretch.
Counsel said Tucker will get the day off tomorrow in the Cubs' series finale against the Braves before the Cubs' off day on Thursday. Then, the club will re-evaluate Tucker's calf on Friday.
