The Chicago Cubs have yet to make a big splash at this year's trade deadline. They have reportedly been involved in conversations for a few big names, but have not landed one yet.
The Cubs have added Michael Soroka and Andrew Kittredge, but could be looking for an elite arm for their starting rotation. That may be tough, however. MLB insider Mark Feinsand revealed the Cubs are not willing to part ways with Moisés Ballesteros.
"The Cubs are actively trying to make moves, but sources say Chicago is declining to part with Moisés Ballesteros, who ranks as the club's No. 2 prospect per (MLB Pipeline), who ranks him as the No. 47 prospect in its Top 100," Feinsand wrote on X.
Ballesteros has already made his MLB debut. He is 4-for-18 to start his big league career. However, in his last game, he had a three-RBI double against the Milwaukee Brewers.
He was called up in May, but was sent back to Triple-A. He was recalled on Wednesday and is hoping to stick in the big leagues this time. He is one of the most talented prospects in the Cubs' system, and teams would rightfully want him in exchange for a big name.

The Cubs missed out on Eugenio Suárez, but there are still plenty of starting pitchers they could land in a trade. However, the Cubs are not going to want to move Ballesteros for a rental arm even if they can be convinced to trade him.
