The Chicago Cubs are reeling at the moment. They have lost three consecutive games and are 4-6 in their last 10 contests.
They also have let both the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers back into the National League Central race.
They'll welcome Shota Imanaga back from the injured list on Thursday for their series finale at Busch Stadium, but they are without Justin Steele, who underwent Tommy John surgery and is out for the 2025 season.
Zachary D. Rymer listed possible fits for Boston Red Sox veteran starter Walker Buehler. The Cubs were among them.
"As for Buehler, we know he was on the Cubs' radar over the winter. He wouldn't cost them much in a trade besides money, and they can still spend plenty of dollars before they risk running afoul of the luxury tax," Rymer wrote.

Despite their recent struggles, the North Siders do remain on top in the NL Central. But with Steele out for the season, they will need an extra arm.
Buehler could be a good fit in Chicago. He is not having a stellar season with Boston, as he is 5-5 with a 6.29 ERA in 13 starts, but he does have a track record of pitching well in October.
That alone could be enough to pique the Cubs' interest. When he's healthy, he can still be one of the better starting pitchers in Major League Baseball, and perhaps a change of scenery could help him rediscover his old form.
The 30-year-old pitched a gem in Game 3 of the World Series last October for the Los Angeles Dodgers and even closed out the New York Yankees in Game 5 to clinch the series.
It will be interesting to see if the Cubs have him on their radar.
