The Boston Red Sox have made some moves this season, but none of them for a superstar. However, it seems they’re trending in the right direction for one superstar.
According to Ari Alexander, the Red Sox just completed a meeting with Toronto Blue Jays two-time All-Star and World Series hero, Bo Bichette. And apparently, it went pretty well.
“SS Bo Bichette and the #RedSox had a zoom recently, sources tell @7News. It went well on both sides, per sources. Bichette came away impressed with the Red Sox, I’m told. The Red Sox have shown to be serious about the free agent,” Alexander posted to X.
This past season, Bichette slashed.311/.357/.483/.840 with 44 doubles, 18 home runs, and 94 RBI in 139 games. He would be a great addition to the lineup and would definitely elevate their offense.

He’s also more on the timeline of the roster. He’s only 27 years old, and that matches up with the offense's average age of early-to-mid 20s, with a couple of outliers. However, he wouldn’t be able to play his natural position of shortstop, due to Trevor Story already claiming the position.
If he can move to second base, or third if Alex Bregman walks, then this could be very good for the Sox. Hopefully, they pursue it in any way they can and make sure Bichette is wearing scarlet red and navy blue come Opening Day.
