The Boston Red Sox made the most significant move of the regular season when the team traded slugger Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday night.
Boston saved around $255 million over the next 8.5 years by trading away Devers, and now the team can allocate the money they were giving to him to different positions next season.
With the team trading Devers, they will have to find someone who can replace his offensive production. Drew Koch from Fansided believes the team should consider signing Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber.
"Bring Schwar-bombs back to Boston! Kyle Schwarber, who was a trade deadline acquisition for the Red Sox in 2021, has done nothing but rake since arriving in Philadelphia," Koch wrote. "The veteran slugger is defensively limited, but his power is undeniable. After trading their DH to San Fran, perhaps Boston could reestablish some goodwill by bringing another one back to Beantown."
Schwarber is in the final year of his four-year, $79 million deal and would be a nice addition to the Red Sox roster in 2026.

Boston has several young players, including Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Kristian Campbell, and adding Schwarber, who will turn 33 next March, would provide the team with the veteran leadership it needs.
