The offseason is here for both the Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres, which makes them ideal trade candidates with one another. The hot stove rumor mill is bound to start heating up as more teams are eliminated from the MLB playoffs.
Jarren Duran was another name that garnered a lot of trade rumors towards the 2025 trade deadline in July, but ultimately, he stayed put with the Red Sox.
Red Sox predicted to trade Jarren Duran
In a recent predictions piece on Bleacher Report, Jarred Duran is predicted to be traded to the Padres in a blockbuster deal:
"Trade Proposal: San Diego Padres get OF Jarren Duran, DH Masataka Yoshida; Boston Red Sox get RHP Jeremiah Estrada, C Ethan Salas (Padres No. 1)"
This trade proposal is a monster deal struck up by writer Zachary Rymer. One that would include Boston sending over two of its position players who play right now in return for a solid reliever in Jeremiah Estrada and a top prospect in Ethan Salas.
All things considered, Duran had another quality season with the Red Sox. He hit .256 with 41 doubles, 13 triples, and 16 home runs. His OPS was .774.
During those earlier in the year trade rumors, multiple MLB insiders had linked Duran to San Diego because of AJ Preller. The savvy executive is not afraid to give away prospect capital that would help improve the roster immediately.
San Diego will have major decisions to make about a couple of their outfielders, and it appears there will be a vacant left field position.
