The Atlanta Braves' roster turnover continued during the All-Star break.
Late on Wednesday night, the Braves completed a trade with the Miami Marlins, sending right-handed pitcher Michael Petersen to their division rivals for cash considerations. Petersen had been designated for assignment on Sunday.
The Marlins announced the trade via X (formerly Twitter).
According to the MLB.com transactions log, Petersen has been optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville in the Miami organization.
The 31-year-old Petersen has an intriguing profile. He's the only British-born pitcher this season to have thrown a pitch in the majors, though he went to high school in the Bay Area. He was also drafted four times--once out of high school, and three times out of junior college.
The Braves were Petersen's fifth organization, as he signed with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015, then progressed to the Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Marlins.

Standing at 6-foot-7, Peterson has 88th percentile fastball velocity and an expected ERA of 3.81 this season. Granted, that's over the course of 6 2/3 innings, and in total, he's only thrown 26 1/3 innings at the major league level.
Will Peterson's second turn in Miami produce better results? The Braves don't seem to think so, but perhaps he can prove them wrong.
