The Atlanta Braves are nearing the end of a season that, frankly, they’ve probably been looking forward to wrapping up since August. It’s been a complete wash, and the finish line is finally in sight. That finish line may also apply to manager Brian Snitker, whose contract is set to expire.
“Because of that consistent recent success, Snit would normally be afforded a ‘mulligan’ year—even though going from the second-best preseason World Series odds to possibly the third-best odds of winning the draft lottery is a pretty serious mulligan,” Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller wrote. “At 69, though, he's already the oldest manager in the National League by a several-year margin and was likely to retire at the end of this season, which is the last one in his current contract.”
Another figure who may not return to the Braves next season is Jarred Kelenic, who has spent most of 2025 in Triple-A.
“Kelenic won't see any time at the MLB level next season unless something crazy (and probably very unfortunate) happens. He's only batting .213 over 95 games at Triple-A with four homers, 17 doubles, and five RBI. Kelenic was on the IL for a brief stint as well. Don't be surprised if the Braves consider trading him in the offseason,” HTHB’s Steven Teal wrote.
The Kelenic experiment hasn’t gone the way the Braves hoped. Atlanta envisioned him returning to the form many once believed he was capable of—but instead, he's drawn comparisons to former Braves outfielder Cameron Maybin.
“Kelenic may find the answer at Gwinnett, but his trajectory so far looks a lot like that of Cameron Maybin. Both were projected as stars of the future, called up early in their career. And struggled. Maybin quickly slipped into a fourth-outfielder role and never became a star,” HTHB’s Fred Owens wrote.

At this point, the Braves aren’t getting any meaningful production from Kelenic. On days when Ronald Acuña Jr. sits, Atlanta turns to Eli White instead. Kelenic—once a projected star—now faces the possibility of either another year in Gwinnett or being dealt away if GM Alex Anthopoulos can find any trade value left.
