The Arizona Diamondbacks' first priority for a Eugenio Suarez trade shouldn't be "easy."
They should want to get the best return for their All-Star third baseman, the player widely considered the best bat available before the MLB trade deadline.
But there is a path that seems quite simple.
The Diamondbacks are in Detroit this week. The Tigers want Suarez. The front offices could sit down together, hash out a deal and let Suarez stroll over to the other clubhouse.
"The Detroit Tigers, one of the strong suitors for Diamondbacks All Star 3B Eugenio Suarez, would love to finalize a deal before Suarez leaves town Wednesday," wrote USA Today's Bob Nightengale. "The DBacks are in Detroit for 3-game series."

The Tigers would certainly love the quick access to Suarez as they try to break out of a bad slump.
Suarez and his 36 homers are wanted by a lot more than just the Tigers, of course. The Cubs, Mariners and Reds are three of the other interested clubs.
But the Tigers have an odd sort of home-field advantage. If the Diamondbacks and Suarez want the easy route, Detroit might be the way to go.
