High school football season in Tennessee has come to an end, and once again, it was another exciting one.
That culminated with last week’s BlueCross Bowl state championship games, which were held in Chattanooga, as nine title trophies were awarded.
Here’s a look at those top performers from the championship round of the Tennessee playoffs. Also, readers can now vote on who they think should be the Tennessee Player of the Week. Vote as many times as you like until 11:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, and the winner will be announced next week.

Cayden Aukerman, Page
Aukerman, a junior receiver and Samford commit, caught four passes for 82 yards, including the game-winning 45-yard TD pass with 58 seconds left which broke a tie as Page finished off a 14-0 season with a 21-14 win against Sevier County in the Class 5A title game.
Jamychal Buckner, South Pittsburg
Buckner rushed for 204 yards on 15 carries and three TDs while recording four tackles, one for loss, on defense as he was named the MVP of South Pittsburg’s 42-14 Class 1A title-game win against McKenzie.
Donte Cameron, Oakland
Cameron rushed for 97 yards on nine carries and a TD while completing both of his pass attempts for 44 yards in the Patriots’ 62-21 win against Ravenwood in the Class 6A title game.
Briggs Cherry, Chattanooga Baylor
The Red Raiders’ quarterback - a Louisville signee - completed 13-of-21 passes for 158 yards and three TDs, including the eventual game-winning TD pass with more than three minutes left, in the Red Raiders’ 28-24 win against Brentwood Academy in the Division II-AAA title game.
Dayon Cooper, South Pittsburg
Cooper caught four passes for 82 yards and a TD in South Pittsburg’s 42-14 Class 1A title-game win against McKenzie. On defense, he picked off a pass and broke up another.
Max Curry, Battle Ground Academy
A sophomore, Curry caught nine passes for 176 yards and three TDs, including the first two scores of the game in BGA’s 61-27 win against Franklin Road Academy in the Division II-AA championship game.
Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian
The quarterback and Vanderbilt signee passed for 205 yards, completing 14-of-19 attempts, and five TDs while adding 78 yards rushing with a TD in the Eagles’ 59-7 win against University School of Jackson in the Division II-A title game.
Christopher Damron, Westview
Damron, a senior receiver/safety, caught six passes for 182 yards and three TDs, including an 80-yard score 13 seconds into the Class 3A title game, when Westview recorded a 62-21 win against Gatlinburg-Pittman. On defense, he had five tackles, one for loss and a pass breakup.
Jamir Dean, Alcoa
Dean caught four passes for 120 yards and also broke up two passes on defense in the Tornadoes’ 47-27 win against Pearl-Cohn in the Class 4A title game.
Hayes Eubanks, Huntingdon
Eubanks registered nine total tackles, including two tackles for loss, two sacks and a quarterback hurry as Huntingdon claimed the Class 2A championship with a 20-7 win against Marion County.
David Gabriel Georges, Chattanooga Baylor
Georges, a highly recruited Class of ’27 tailback, rushed for 151 yards on 28 carries with a TD and also caught three passes for 60 yards and another score in the Red Raiders’ 28-24 win against Brentwood Academy in the Division II-AAA title game.
Cohen Grissom, Page
An Air Force commit at linebacker, Grissom was named the MVP of the Class 5A title game win against Sevier County. He had a team-high 14 total tackles, including six solo stops and three tackles for loss. Also, Grissom had two sacks, two pass deflections and a quarterback pressure.
Micah Jones, Alcoa
Jones was named the MVP of the Class 4A title game, as the Tornadoes posted a 47-27 win against Pearl-Cohn. He rushed for 120 yards on 14 carries and four TDs, while recording seven total tackles on defense.
Kaedyn Marable, Battle Ground Academy
At quarterback, Marable completed 24-of-31 passes for 384 yards and four TDs while rushing for 61 yards on 10 carries and three TDs in BGA’s 61-27 win against Franklin Road Academy in the Division II-AA championship game.
Graham Simpson, Westview
Simpson set a BlueCross Bowl single-game passing record with 566 yards, while completing 18-of-21 passes. He also tied a state title game record with seven TD throws in the Chargers’ 62-21 win against Gatlinburg-Pittman in the Class 3A title game. Simpson added a rushing TD.
Kenton Smith, Huntingdon
Smith rushed for 111 yards on 21 carries with a TD and also completed a 41-yard TD pass in the Class 2A championship game, a 20-7 Huntingdon win against Marion County.
Craig Tutt, Oakland
Tutt, a senior running back and Ole Miss signee, tied a BlueCross Bowl record with seven TDs. He finished with 226 yards on 32 carries and those seven scores in the Patriots’ 62-21 win against Ravenwood in the Class 6A title game.
TJ Ward, Nashville Christian
Ward had 89 all-purpose yards and three total TDs (two rushing, one receiving) in the Eagles’ 59-7 win against University School of Jackson in the Division II-A title game.
