It's not often that Lakewood St. Edward loses.

But on Friday night in an OHSAA Division I state semifinal, Olentangy Orange left no doubt.

Orange won the turnover battle in a big way, and thanks to that, won the football game.

Olentangy Orange will take on Cincinnati St. Xavier in the state championship game.

The final: Olentangy Orange 28, St. Edward 0.

Olentangy Orange forced six turnovers, writing the story of the game with its defense.

St. Ed's lost in this round a year ago to Olentangy Liberty.

And now it's Orange pulling the same trick.

Ed's had won three consecutive state championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

This will be Orange's first appearance in a state championship game. They had never even been a regional champion before this season.
