The 2025 Formula 1 caravan heads to Baku for the 17th race of the season, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, on Sunday.

The Baku City Circuit remains one of the most unpredictable and toughest races on the F1 calendar. With very long straights, accented by 90-degree turns and narrow and twisty sections, especially around the old city walls, Baku presents a unique challenge for the drivers.

McLaren has been an unstoppable force this season, leading the team standings with a massive 617 points while second-placed Ferrari is at 280. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have together won 12 of the 16 races so far. In the driver standings, Piastri (324 points) is ahead of his teammate Norris (293).

Four-time world champion Max Verstappen roared back to form by winning the Italian GP. It was his first victory since May.
