Week 4 Fantasy PPR Rankings: Tight end image

A highly drafted veteran and a potential breakout rookie tight end are proving that for all their respective talent, they might be iffy fantasy options. As you can see in our Week 4 TE PPR rankings, Jared Cook and T.J. Hockenson are falling fast and squarely on the start 'em, sit 'em bubble, but as is always the case, there are other waiver wire pickups and matchup-based sleeper tight ends to move up and take their places.

Cook looks especially tough to start right now. He was targeted twice in Week 3 and has five catches through three games. We still think of him as a touchdown and down-the-field threat, but with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback, Cook just isn't a reliable fantasy option, especially in PPR. Then in Detroit, after a monster Week 1, Hockenson has had back-to-back one-catch games. It's not crazy to expect a rookie tight end to be boom-or-bust all season, so his value definitely takes a hit in PPR.

Week 4 brings with it the advent of bye weeks, and there's only one to be concerned about at tight end: George Kittle. He obviously shouldn't be dropped, so you may need to find another TE on the waiver wire and deal with rostering two tight ends for the week. One option, still available in more than half of Yahoo leagues, is Seattle's Will Dissly.

Dissly has had two-straight games of at least five catches, 50 yards and a score for the Seahawks. This week, he gets to face a Cardinals defense allowing the most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Dissly has a safe PPR floor with the amount Russell Wilson has looked his way, and he also has a high ceiling this week against a porous defense.

WEEK 4 DFS LINEUPS:
DK cash | DK GPP | FD cash | FD GPPY! cash | Y! GPP

We've dropped O.J. Howard down our PPR rankings a bit from standard despite an encouraging Week 3 that saw him rack up 60 yards on three catches. It's still concerning that he's seen a total of nine targets through three games, including none in Week 2. Until the Bruce Arians-led offense in Tampa Bay wants to involve Howard more, his PPR ceiling will be limited as a touchdown- and big-play dependent option.

One other name that could be singled out for deep-league owners is James O'Shaughnessy. He's averaging four targets per game and has unseated Geoff Swaim as the top tight end in Jacksonville. With Gardner Minshew looking like a competent NFL quarterback, O'Shaughnessy should have a decent floor each week.
