Week 16 Fantasy PPR Rankings: RB

We thought some big-name RBs were going to return last week. We got Matt Breida, so that's something, but Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Kerryon Johnson, Spencer Ware, and LeSean McCoy were all inactive. This week, you can add Breida back to the "questionable" list along with Aaron Jones, Lamar Miller, and Frank Gore. While RB absences create more potential waiver wire pickups and sleepers, they also inevitably create more start 'em, sit 'em calls difficult for fantasy owners. Our Week 16 fantasy RB PPR rankings can help you make the calls ahead of your fantasy championship matchups.

For now, we're putting most of the banged-up backs in our rankings. We'll adjust as needed, of course, but the projected return of those key players really makes the rankings top heavy. The RB1 and RB2 tiers don't feature many sleepers, though Elijah McGuire and Jamaal Williams sneak into the mix and should be available on the majority of waiver wires. 

Week 16 Standard Rankings:

Perhaps the toughest call will be with Damien WIlliams if Ware is back. Williams scored twice in Week 14 when Ware was healthy, then had a monster Week 15 in Ware's absence. A matchup in Seattle awaits, but Williams could rack up receptions even if he doesn't do much in the run game this week. We see him as a FLEX, primarly because the Seahawks allow the second-most receiving yards per game to RBs (59.5). That's good news for Ware, too, as he'll be involved in the receiving game, but it could really benefit Williams. The flipside of that matchup should be good for pass-catching backs, too. The Chiefs allow the most receiving yards to RBs and 6.5 receptions per game, so Mike Davis, who had eight receptions last week, makes for an interesting FLEX. 

Some other interesting options based on the matchups include Dion Lewis (Redskins are ninth in receptions per game to RBs), whoever is starting for Houston (Eagles rank third), and James White (Bills tied for 11th)
