Today's Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Starting pitchers for Saturday image

It's a full Saturday of baseball, as games get underway at 2:10 p.m. ET and last until after midnight on the East Coast. Both FanDuel and DraftKings offer seven-game early slates and seven-game evening slates, with the Marlins-Phillies matchup at 6:05 p.m. ET falling through the cracks. If you really want to use Jake Arrieta or Trevor Richards -- two of the top-12 pitchers in our SP rankings --  you'll have to take your chances in an all-day contest.

It's a pretty good day for pitching, though some of the big names haven't lived up to the hype this year, at least in terms of standard stats. Stephen Strasburg (vs. Padres) and Noah Syndergaard (vs. Brewers) are both striking out hitters and have much better advanced numbers than their respective 4.11 and 5.90 ERAs would indicate. Neither are cheap, but they're prime candidates for breakouts. On the flip side, Jose Berrios (vs. Orioles) has worse advanced stats than his 2.97 ERA implies, largely because of a high HR-rate. With temperatures expected to be in the low-40s in Minnesota this afternoon, Berrios should have an advantage on the cold Orioles' bats. If you're going to pay up, Berrios is a solid, albeit somewhat risky, pick.

Mike Foltynewicz (vs. Rockies) is an interesting option in his season debut. The 27-year-old righty has been on the IL because of an elbow injury, so he likely won't go very deep into today's game. Give his relatively high price, he might not be worth it, at least as anything more than a No. 2 in DraftKings tournaments. At least his matchup is solid.

As far as fades, Joe Musgrove (@ Dodgers) and Shane Bieber (@ Astros) have brutal matchups on paper, and Yu Darvish (@ Diamondbacks) has been downright terrible this year, walking at least three and giving up at least one homer in four of five starts. Darvish is pitching in hitter-friendly Arizona, so consider him a GPP-only option.

Based on early forecasts, only the Reds-Cardinals and Tigers-White Sox games are in danger of weather issues, but check the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center closer to lineup lock for the latest.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here.
