Today's Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Tuesday, May 14 image

Tuesday features a full slate of MLB action, and our SP rankings are packed at the top and reveal plenty of interesting sleeper options throughout the mid-tier. For daily fantasy baseball contests, there are some discount prices on stud pitchers (Noah Syndergaard, Jack Flaherty), as well as premium prices on guys enjoying breakout seasons (Caleb Smith, Chris Paddack). Finding your SP1 on FanDuel and SP1 and SP2 on DraftKings will take some time.

Charlie Morton (@ Marlins) is the most obvious choice on FanDuel, at least for cash games. He's priced as the SP6 in all-day contests, and given his upside and matchup, he's a safe bet to produce. You can also grab Noah Syndergaard (@ Nationals) at a discount and hope his standard numbers start reflecting his superior advanced stats. Jerad Eickhoff (vs. Brewers) and Kyle Gibson (vs. Angels) doesn't come particularly cheap on either site, but Gibson has a brutal matchup on paper, and Eickhoff, despite dominating for most of this year, seems destined to start giving up some homers soon. We know the Brewers have some scary lefthanded bats, so tread carefully.

Brandon Woodruff (@ Phillies) looks like a great value option, especially as a contrarian pick to Eickhoff. Not only is he by far the cheapest option in our top 12, but he also has sterling peripherals (2.85 FIP, 11.5 K/9 ratio, 2.6 BB/9). He might not go much longer than six innings, but he works on both sites. Danny Duffy (vs. Rangers) is an interesting matchup play against a Rangers team that tends to struggle against lefties, and Trent Thornton (@ Giants) is a pure matchup sleeper out in San Francisco. Manny Banuelos (vs. Indians) fits that bill, too, but it's unlikely many are playing all-day contests on FanDuel.

We already mentioned Eickhoff and Gibson as fades, but be careful with Mike Foltynewicz (vs. Cardinals), too. It's tempting to think he'll find last season's form soon, but there really haven't been any signs of that happening.

There could be more rain coming in New York for the Orioles-Yankees, but things look mostly clear otherwise. Check with the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center for the latest updates closer to lineup lock.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here.
