Today's Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Thursday, June 20 image

With 12 games on Thursday's MLB schedule -- only two of which take place in the afternoon -- it's a relatively big day on daily fantasy baseball slates. However, our SP rankings fall off in a hurry, revealing only a handful of desirable options, most of which are high priced. Picking the right sleepers for your DraftKings and FanDuel contests will require taking some risks.

Two boom-or-bust candidates are Julio Urias (@ Giants) and Framber Valdez (@ Yankees). Both have great stuff, but Urias isn't expected to go deep into the game, serving as a glorified opener, while Valdez will face a Yankees lineup that figures to be much tougher than its ranking vs. lefties thanks to the recent "additions" of Giancarlo Stanton and Edwin Encarnacion.

Adam Wainwright (vs. Marlins)Nick Pivetta (@ Nationals), and Jimmy Nelson (vs. Reds) all have decent matchups on paper, but Pivetta is the only one pitching well right now (and not coming off a recent injury).

Don't be surprised to see delays in the Astros-Yankees and Phillies-Nationals games. Check the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center closer to lineup lock for the latest weather reports.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here.
