Today's Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Friday, May 10 image

Fridays always feature big daily fantasy baseball slates, and we're dealing with 14 games and some high-quality pitchers tonight. A scan of our Friday SP rankings should have you zeroing in on a few names, and given some of the value sleepers, you shouldn't have a problem finding your ace on FanDuel or your two pitchers on DraftKings, regardless of budget.

There are no surprises at the top, where Luis Castillo (@ Giants), Tyler Glasnow (vs. Yankees), and Justin Verlander (vs. Rangers) sit. Castillo has by far the best matchup, but Glasnow has dominated everyone and we all know what Verlander can do. If you're looking to save a few dollar but still get similar upside, Zack Wheeler (vs. Marlins) has as good of a matchup as a pitcher can get, and he should be in position to rack up and Ks and scoreless innings.

If you want to save a little money, Pablo Lopez (@ Mets) is in a great spot. He strikes out over a batter per inning and has advanced numbers that outpace his standard stats. The Mets aren't a scary opponent, and Lopez could have low ownership as most flock to Wheeler. Frankie Montas (vs. Indians) also has a great matchup and advanced numbers, though his strikeout upside isn't quite as high. As far as pure matchup plays (i.e. punts in tournaments), Dylan Covey (@ Blue Jays) and Dereck Rodriguez (vs. Reds) have the numbers on their sides but not much else.

There aren't any obvious fades. Domingo German (@ Rays) and Eduardo Rodriguez (vs. Mariners) don't have great matchups on paper, but both still have upside. German Marquez (vs. Padres) carries the Coors Field risk, but we know he's a good pitcher. Jake Arrieta (@ Royals) jumps out as overpriced because his stats are nothing special and the Royals are above average against righties, but it's not as if he's off-limits if you can afford him.

Angels-Orioles looks like the only game that could be affected by weather, but check with the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center for the latest updates closer to lineup lock.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here.
