Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Pitching advice for Friday

With five former Cy Young award winners (and likely a handful of future winners) on the mound today, chances are you won't need to dip down into the "sleeper section" of our daily fantasy baseball pitcher rankings, but just in case, we went ahead and ordered them to help with your DFS picks.

It's tough to go wrong with any of the guys in our top 15 or 16, as almost all of them can dominate while racking up strikeouts. In general, price will be a determining factor, but the type of contest you're in will also make a big difference. In cash games, you have to like Noah Syndergaard, Julio Teheran, Dallas Keuchel, and Danny Duffy. They seemingly have the best matchups and are the most likely to get a win. In GPPs, you might want to go against the grain a little and try Aaron Nola (who's facing Stephen Strasburg), Zack Greinke (who's facing Clayton Kersahw), or Gerrit Cole (who's facing Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs). Even Kershaw might be somewhat "against the grain" tonight because he'll be so expensive and there are so many other good options.

If you really want to go off the board, Daniel Norris and Trevor Bauer are both boom-or-bust guys who are facing each other. Obviously, one stands a better-than-average chance of getting a win; picking the right one could really pay off. Scott Feldman and Tommy Milone are also facing each other, as are Dylan Covey and Adalberto Mejia, though it's tough to recommend any of those four with so many other ace-level pitchers starting tonight.
