Wednesday's MLB schedule features two day games (Reds-Brewers and Royals-White Sox), plus a 6:10 pm ET start between the Astros and Indians. The latter is important to note because it potentially takes away two value pitching options in daily fantasy baseball contests. If your preferred DFS site doesn't include that game on its main slate, you still have a ton of good pitchers from which to pick (see our rankings below), but it's something to keep in mind as you figure out your budget.
With weather causing problems on Tuesday (and possibly causing a problem on Wednesday -- Update: Blue Jays-Cardinals has been postponed), rotations have been juggled, but Noah Syndergaard and Jon Lester remain on track to pitch today. They stand out as the clear top options, but don't forget about James Paxton, who will look to bounce back from his first poor outing of the season, and Dylan Bundy, who will try to continue his sterling April. Perhaps the most interesting option today is Cole Hamels, who's pitched well this year but only has a 4.9 K/9 ratio. Along with Julio Teheran, Johnny Cueto and Jose Quintana, Hamels will look to get back to "normal". According to lefty/righty splits, Teheran and Quintana have great matchups, while Hamels' is merely average and Cueto's is unfavorable.
If you want to dig a little deeper for your starter(s), you can take anyone in our top 20 and be optimistic. Alex Wood is probably the "sneakiest" play against a Giants' team that's below average against lefties, but if you're looking for a boom-or-bust type for GPPs, Vince Velasquez, Carlos Martinez, Luis Severino and Trevor Bauer fit the bill because of their respective strikeout abilities.
