Friday's night's schedule presents a dilemma for those in daily fantasy baseball contests. There's only one true "ace" pitching, and that's the ace, Clayton Kershaw, who not only carries a prohibitive price tag, but is also starting in Colorado. The number one rule for pitcher picks is usually: "Don't choose someone pitching at Coors Field". But this is Kershaw. Is he really off-limits?
Chances are he will be off-limits for a lot of people. Kershaw has already been touched up in Colorado once this year, and for his career, he holds a 4.71 ERA there. It might actually be a sneaky contrarian move to use him in GPPs, but, again, you're taking a risk.
As far as other choices go, it's a pretty uninspiring set of rankings. Lance McCullers (at NYY) might have the most overall upside, but he also has a tough matchup in a hitter-friendly park. Rick Porcello has gotten back on track in his past four starts and is striking out over a batter per inning for the season. Ervin Santana came back to Earth in a big way in his last start, but he's still one of the better options on a down pitching day.
