Marvin Harrison Jr. fantasy injury tip: Cardinals WR news impacts Michael Wilson, waiver wire image

The Arizona Cardinals and fantasy football managers were dealt some unexpected news on Wednesday.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Had surgery for appendicitis and will miss some time.

The star wide receiver is an every-week starter in fantasy leagues, and now he's sidelined out of the blue.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Harrison would miss at least the upcoming Week 11. It's not clear whether it could be longer than that.

The simple solution is to check your waiver wire to see if Michael Wilson is available. With Harrison out, Wilson moves up the pecking order in the desert.

QB Jacoby Brissett has been chucking the ball all over the place, and if more of his targets now go to Wilson, that'll make Wilson a viable replacement option in fantasy leagues.

Other names to consider off the waiver wire include:

  • Christian Watson, Packers
  • Alec Pierce, Colts
  • Parker Washington, Jaguars
  • Tez Johnson, Buccaneers

Watson and Pierce should maintain their current roles through the rest of the season for sure.

Washington's value depends on the health of Brian Thomas Jr., while Johnson's value depends on the health of Chris Godwin.

Harrison seemingly won't be out for too long, though, so all those names could serve as fill-in options.
