Nothing is better in darts than a nine-dart perfect leg finish.

They don't happen often, but when they do, the crowd goes absolutely nuts.

The World Cup of Darts has never featured a perfect leg, but maybe 2025 will break that drought.

Will there be a nine-darter in 2025?

In 2022, Australia was the width of a wire away from completing the first World Cup of Darts perfect leg.

Simon Whitlock started with a 180, followed by a second 180 from Damon Heta.

Whitlock came back for his second visit after Heta, with all the pressure on him to get the job done and make history.

With 141 remaining, he hit the treble 20, followed by the treble 15.

This left double 18, which he unfortunately just missed for the perfect leg.

That is the closest we have seen a pair come to the perfect leg in World Cup of Darts history.

However, that could change in the next couple of days.

The easy answer would be to say England will do it, with the dynamic duo of Luke Humphries and Luke Littler set to debut as a pair this weekend.

They combine for 13 career nine-dart finishes, and could very well combine for one this weekend, with the firepower we have seen out of them recently.

The Welsh pair of Gerwn Price and Jonny Clayton combined for 12 career nine-darters, with Price responsible for 9.

The Scottish pair of Gary Anderson and Peter Wright also combine for 12, with Anderson producing several in the last couple of years, but none at a non-players championship event.

The Northern Ireland duo of Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney combine for 8, with Josh Rock having 6 in his fairly young career.

The Belgians combine for 8 as well, with Dimitri Van Den Bergh leading the way with 6.

There's always Australia to look out for, with Heta recently striking perfection at the 2025 PDC WC, and Whitlock having 11 perfect finishes in his career.

Other countries like the Netherlands, Germany and maybe even Ireland or Austria could be contenders.

Hopefully, we can at least see one attempt at a double for a nine-dart finish this weekend.
