Anthony Adams brings his take on fantasy punishments with new pizza release image

Former NFL star Anthony "Spice" Adams is no stranger to fantasy football punishments. The 41 year old ex defensive end for the Bears and 49ers has followed the trend for years and talks about it regularly on his popular social platforms. He says he’s heard stories from players and fans who take the losing penalty a little bit too far. According to Adams, some leagues try marathon style stunts that keep the loser in a bar all day or locked into filmed tasks that drag on for hours. And now he says there’s a better way that fantasy leagues can dole out punishment to the biggest losers – and it involves pizza.

That may sound great at first but actually it’s not quite so simple. Adams partnered with Red Baron to promote a new deep dish pizza targeting the losers in fantasy leagues specifically. It’s called the Humble Pie, and it’s an overly spiced pizza that may feel like punishment to many of the people who try it.

The limited item is available through The Red Baron site through December 15. The 7-inch pie is loaded with Carolina Reaper sauce, spicy mozzarella, Ghost Pepper flakes, pepperoni dusted in heat and slices of habanero and jalapeno. Adams had to test it out himself but he actually used gloves and protective eyewear to handle the explosive mix of ingredients. He says the pizza is a great punishment for league losers because it brings a clear challenge, but doesn’t require an all day commitment.

Fans can request a free Humble Pie for the person in their league who finished last. The packaging includes a foldable sign that calls out the loser in direct terms by saying "I suck at fantasy." Adams says it fits the competitive spirit that many leagues look for when the season wraps up.

Red Baron is encouraging players to post the loser and their pizza on Instagram or TikTok. If they do, everyone in the league gets a regular Red Baron pizza that doesn’t have the extreme heat of the punishment version.

Adams says his own fantasy season hasn’t gone the way he hoped, but he’s actually been able to avoid the bottom spot himself. He credits 49ers great Christian McCaffrey for keeping him out of last place. "Spice" Adams played nine seasons in the NFL for the 49ers and Bears and has stayed active through TV work and social media, where he always lets his opinions be known about football and the culture that surrounds it.
