When the sun sets, most people head inside, turn on Netflix, or try not to think about whatever’s lurking in the dark ocean. Others might take a cute sunset pic. Kim Kardashian? She wades straight into nighttime waves wearing vintage couture, and Khloé Kardashian — who shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3, with NBA star Tristan Thompson — has thoughts.
On Sunday, November 23, the 45-year-old SKIMS boss dropped a moody, cinematic photo dump on Instagram. The pictures show her knee-deep in pitch-black water, waves splashing against a sheer, nude gown. “Shipwrecked in rio,” she captioned the post.
Khloé was one of the first to react, and she didn’t hold back: “You are such a freak for being in that water at night! It’s SUPER DARK outside in those pictures!! Are you well?”
And honestly? She wasn’t the only one feeling concerned.
“Kim get out the water before Poseidon claims you 😭🌊👑,” one person warned.
“Sharks come out in the evening,” pointed out another.
“Don’t make me turn into Aquaman an come save you…” joked a third.
But while half the comment section was worried she was about to become sea-monster bait, the other half was too stunned by the look to care. Fire emojis, heart eyes, and praise filled the feed, with fans calling the images “stunning,” “WOW,” and “pretty.”
The dress Kim’s wearing in the photos is a rare archival piece from Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2003 “Irere” collection. She closed out the carousel with throwback images of the original McQueen gowns and the eerie underwater visuals that inspired them.
Fresh from her starring turn in Hulu’s All’s Fair — which drew mixed reviews but impressive viewership — the mom of four dropped the seaside shoot right as the series scored a quick Season 2 pickup.
As for Khloé, she’s been juggling a full month of podcast confessions, kid-centered content and swirling speculation. On November 19, she addressed people asking, “How do you let Tristan back in?”, clarifying, “Tristan is not back in.’ He’s just the father of my kids, so he’s going to be around his kids and I’m really grateful that he is.”
For those out of the loop, Khloé and the 34-year-old Cavaliers champ kicked off their relationship back in 2016, weathering multiple breakups before calling it quits for good in 2021 after his paternity scandal. Since then, the two have settled into a strictly co-parenting rhythm, with the Good American co-founder making it clear that his involvement begins and ends with fatherhood — not a romantic reunion.
