India captain Rohit Sharma entered an elusive list of players that features the ones who have scored 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
Rohit went closer to the milestone during his 50-plus knock in the India-Pakistan Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2023. He looked all set for a hundred and looked as if the landmark in the awaiting would be achieved there and then. However, as Rohit perished while trying to take on Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan, he fell 22 runs short of touching the 10000-run mark in ODI cricket.

But the 36-year-old finally touched the landmark-figure in the following duel against Sri Lanka. He broke through the barrier with a nonchalant straight six on a Kasun Rajitha delivery in the seventh over of the innings.
Indians with 10000 ODI runs
Meanwhile, there are already five Indian batters, excluding Rohit, who have scored 10,000 runs. Overall, there are 15 players, who have recorded this feat, and the most number of them are the Indians.
Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni's respective run tally in the ODIs totals above 10,000. Tendulkar sits at top of the all the other players.
