IPL 2023: MS Dhoni score today in RCB vs CSK

MS Dhoni was in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.

The former Indian captain had little to do today as he came out to bat with just two balls to spare. However, Ravindra Jadeja did check with the CSK dugout midway in the final over if Dhoni wanted to come on, but he received a stern 'no' from the skipper. 

In the next ball, Jadeja was sent back by Glenn Maxwell and Dhoni finally walked out amidst one of the loudest cheers of the night. 

He tried to hit Maxwell out of the park but could only get an inside edge towards long-on for a single. It was the only ball he faced in his innings. 

How many runs did MS Dhoni score in IPL 2022?

The star wicketkeeper-batsman went through a rough patch last season as he managed to score just 232 runs in 14 matches as CSK failed to make it to the play-offs.

Dhoni hit just one half-century in the entire season and recorded an average of 33.14.

Dhoni is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of CSK who recently completed 5000 runs in IPL recently.

He is only the seventh player in IPL's history to score 5000-plus runs.
