The final eight teams in Division I softball will make their trek to Devon Park in Oklahoma City with hopes of winning the Women's College World Series and the national title.
The signature event in college softball kicks off in Oklahoma City on Thursday, and among the games slated to take place is a battle of WCWS newcomers between No. 12 Texas Tech and unseeded Ole Miss.
The Red Raiders (50-12) booked their ticket to their first-ever trip to Oklahoma City with a clean sweep over No. 5 Florida State at the Tallahassee super regional. Texas Tech has won its last nine games en route to a debut appearance at the WCWS.
The Rebels (42-19) earned their first trip to the WCWS with an upset series win over No. 4 Arkansas at the Fayetteville super regional. Ole Miss backed up a strong showing at the SEC Tournament by winning five of its last seven games to reach the WCWS.
