The Oklahoma softball program is in an unfamiliar place this fall, ushering in a new crop of recruits ahead of the spring season without a national title to defend.
While the Sooners saw their streak of four consecutive NCAA championships come to an end in June, with rival Texas taking the crown, Patty Gasso's team remains a formidable force.
The Sooners are in the midst of fall ball, with one intrasquad date under their belts, but they'll face another school Wednesday as they travel to take on East Texas A&M in an exhibition.
Plenty of familiar faces are on hand, led by most of last spring's top hitters: Ella Parker, Kasidi Pickering, Gabbie Garcia, Sydney Barker, Ailana Agbayani and more are back for 2026. No. 2 starter Kierston Deal also returns on the pitching side.
Gasso also signed the top-rated recruiting class in the country, and fans will get a first look at the freshmen this fall.

East Texas A&M hosts the Sooners Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. CT at the John Cain Family Softball Complex in Commerce, Texas. The game is slated to last 10 innings to allow more players to see time on the field.
