The 2025 NCAA Division I softball tournament is nearing its end, and eight teams remain hopeful of winning the Women's College World Series and the national title.
The festivities in Oklahoma City begin this week, and among the games slated to take place Thursday is an all-SEC battle between No. 3 Florida and No. 6 Texas.
The Gators (48-15) booked their ticket to their second straight trip to Oklahoma City with a series win over fellow SEC foe Georgia at the Gainesville super regional. Florida has responded to a disappointing start to the postseason -- losing early to Ole Miss at the SEC Tournament -- by winning five of its last six games to reach the final stage of the postseason.
The Longhorns (51-11) earned another trip to the WCWS with a series win over No. 13 Clemson at the Austin super regional. The Longhorns hope to reach the the championship series again this year.
