Eight teams are left standing in Division I softball and will now make their trek to Devon Park in Oklahoma City with hopes of winning the Women's College World Series and the national title.
College softball's signature event kicks off in Oklahoma City on Thursday, and among the games slated to take place is a battle of Big 10 foes between No. 9 UCLA and No. 16 Oregon.
The Bruins (54-11) booked their ticket to Oklahoma City with a series win over No. 8 South Carolina at the Columbia super regional. With the super regional win, UCLA advanced to a record-extending 37th WCWS.
The Ducks (53-8) earned their trip to the WCWS with a clean sweep over unseeded Liberty — who defeated No. 1 seed Texas A&M to reach the super regional round — at the Eugene super regional. Oregon, after an early exit at the Big 10 tournament, has won its last five games.
