Oregon vs. Oklahoma softball final score, results: Sooners stay alive behind three-homer night, eliminate Ducks image

The four-time defending champions won't be going down without a fight.

Oklahoma took down Oregon 4-1 on Sunday night in an elimination matchup at the 2025 Women's College World Series, pushing its title defense another game while ending the Ducks' season. Power and pitching were the stories of the night for the Sooners.

Oregon, which prevailed over Ole Miss in extra innings on Friday, took the first lead vs. Oklahoma, but it never threatened again. A solo home run from Dezianna Patmon in the top of the second was immediately matched by the Sooners' Isabela Emerling — and one inning later, Oklahoma then captured the lead with a two-run shot from Cydney Sanders.

The Sooners cruised the rest of the way on both sides of the ball. Sanders homered again, finishing the night with two solo shots, while Sam Landry came into the circle in relief and went 4.2 scoreless innings while striking out six. As the Ducks' bats went silent vs. Landry, Oregon saw a long, and successful, 2025 season come to an end.

The 2025 Women's College World Series' playing field has shrunk again. After Sunday, just four teams remain alive: Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and Tennessee.

Oregon vs. Oklahoma live updates, highlights from Women's College World Series

All times ET.

Final: Oklahoma 4, Oregon 1

9:50 p.m. — That's it. Oregon's bats are quiet in the top of the seventh against Landry, and the Ducks' season comes to an end after taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Oklahoma, the four-time defending champion, remains alive for another game. That's the Sooners' ninth straight WCWS win while facing elimination.

End of sixth inning: Oklahoma 4, Oregon 1

9:41 p.m. — Oklahoma doesn't add to its lead, but it is just three outs away from fending off elimination. We're heading to the seventh after the Ducks had some nice defensive plays in the sixth.

9:35 p.m. — Make it four punchouts for Sam Landry over 3.1 innings of work. Once again, she dices the Ducks up in the top of the sixth. Oregon will have just one more opportunity to come back in this one.

9:24 p.m. — We're onto the sixth inning, with the Ducks' season on the line and needing some runs. Landry has shut Oregon's offense down, while home runs have lifted the Sooners.

End of fifth inning: Oklahoma 4, Oregon 1

9:15 p.m. HOME RUN — What a game for Cydney Sanders. She hits her second long ball of the evening, striking on a pitch from Grein and sending it beyond the left field wall. Oklahoma is in full control of this elimination game. Every run in this game has come via a homer.

9:06 p.m. — Starting to run out of opportunities, the Ducks can't find much momentum in the top of the fifth, going down 1-2-3. Landry has settled in.

8:54 p.m. — Nothing's doing for the Sooners in the bottom of the fourth. Grein settled in more, now with two strikeouts in two innings.

8:47 p.m. — The Ducks' bats go quiet in the top of the fourth, and Oklahoma will get a chance to pad its lead.

End of third inning: Oklahoma 3, Oregon 1

8:40 p.m. — Grein gets out of a long third inning, able to keep the runs to just the home run. But the Sooners are in front, and they'll have the lead to work with.

Oklahoma 3, Oregon 1

8:28 p.m. HOME RUN — Another homer! The third long shot of the game comes from Cydney Sanders, who sends the ball over the left field wall with one runner on. Oklahoma gets a huge two-run home run to take the lead.

8:25 p.m. — Lyndsey Grein is in to pitch for Oregon after throwing over 120 pitches in its last elimination game. Both teams have turned away from their starters.

8:18 p.m. — After coming in the game with a runner on, Landry gets out of the inning unscathed. The Ducks fail to score despite a few baserunners in the top of the third.

8:12 p.m. — Oklahoma gets a huge double play! Gabbie Garcia makes an excellent play on a pop up in the short outfield, then turns around and fires the ball back to second to double-up the runner. The Sooners will also bring in Sam Landry to pitch in the third inning.

8:07 p.m. — The first two Ducks batters reach safely on hits to start the top of the third.

End of second inning: Oregon 1, Oklahoma 1

8:02 p.m. — Oregon gets out of the inning with no further damage, and we head to the third tied at one.

7:59 p.m. — The Sooners now have back-to-back hits with two outs in the bottom of the second, threatening to take the lead after their home run. But the Ducks are also 42-0 this season when they hit at least one home run, per ESPN. Can Oregon keep that going against the four-time defending champs?

Oregon 1, Oklahoma 1

7:52 p.m. HOME RUN — The Sooners strike back. Isabela Emerling puts a nice swing on a pitch from Sokolsky, sending the ball beyond the left field wall to tie the game at one run. They're all knotted up in OKC.

7:46 p.m. — Deal settles back in after the home run, preventing any further damage. But as we head to the bottom of the second, Oklahoma will be playing from behind.

Oregon 1, Oklahoma 0

7:39 p.m. HOME RUN — Dezianna Patmon goes yard! Her solo shot to center field gives the Ducks the first lead of the game.

End of first inning: Oregon 0, Oklahoma 0

7:32 p.m. — Sokolsky escapes the jam. After loading the bases with a walk, the Sooners can't capitalize, leaving this game scoreless after one frame.

7:26 p.m. — The Sooners offense already has something cooking in the bottom of the first, as their first two batters reach on singles. After a stolen base, Oklahoma has two runners in scoring position.

7:21 p.m. — The Ducks go down in order to begin the game. Now, they'll have Elise Sokolsky in the circle to start.

7:13 p.m. — They're under way in Oklahoma City. Kierston Deal fires in the first pitch for Oklahoma, then strikes out Kai Luschar soon after.
