Ole Miss vs. Oregon softball final score, results: Ducks cap extra-innings marathon with walk-off walk, eliminate Rebels image

It took three extra innings, but the Ducks successfully fended off elimination.

Oregon took down Ole Miss 6-5 in the first elimination round of the 2025 Women's College World Series on Friday night, using a walk-off walk in the 10th inning to seal the victory. With both teams playing for their season and title aspirations, it was a classic example of a game where neither side was quite ready to quit, as the action in Oklahoma City was back-and-forth throughout the night.

The Ducks' bats led them to a commanding lead by the end of the fifth inning, going up 5-2 after a string of clutch hits, but Ole Miss, which got shut out in its opening-round game of the WCWS against Texas Tech, punched right back. Down to their final out in the top of the seventh, the Rebels rallied, scoring three runs to send the elimination game to extras.

While both sides got outstanding pitching performances in the late innings — Oregon from starter Lyndsey Grein (9.1 innings, seven strikeouts, four earned runs) and Ole Miss from Aliyah Binford (5.0 innings, seven strikeouts, no earned runs) — it was the Ducks that eventually broke through. A few batters reached via two hits and an error in the 10th inning, then a five-pitch walk with the bases loaded allowed Oregon to begin celebrating on the field.

Ole Miss' season came to a tough end on Friday night, while Oregon fought 10 innings for a win that will send the squad to another elimination matchup in Oklahoma City on Sunday.

Ole Miss vs. Oregon updates, highlights from Women's College World Series

(All times ET)

Final: Oregon 6, Ole Miss 5

1:34 a.m— Binford walks Kedre Luschar! That walk-off walk wins it for the Ducks, who will certainly take it after not scoring a run past the fifth inning. Oregon remains alive in the WCWS, while Ole Miss' season comes to an end after a miraculous comeback attempt.

1:32 a.m— Oregon gets an infield single from Kai Luschar. The bases are loaded with one out and the winning run at third.

1:30 a.m— Ole Miss gets a huge defensive play from Binford. On a groundout to the pitcher, she turns toward third base and throws out the runner, who can't sneak back into the bag. The Ducks now have runners on second and first, instead of second and first.

1:25 a.m— Oregon has the winning run at third base. After a leadoff infield single, then a bunt that resulted in an errant throw to first base, the runners advance to scoring position with no outs. The Ducks will have a few chances to win this game.

1:21 a.m— A groundout ends Ole Miss' bid to take the lead. Still tied at five, Oregon will come up in the bottom of the 10th.

1:18 a.m— Malvin gives Ole Miss a two-out baserunner with a bloop single into left field, then another single sends her to second. The go-ahead run is at second.

1:13 a.m— Grein is still going, now at 127 pitches. She started this game, came out, then came back in and has not left.

End of ninth inning: Oregon 5, Ole Miss 5

1:10 a.m— It's also a 1-2-3 inning for the Ducks, as Binford remains locked in. We're going to a 10th inning with this matchup undecided.

1:01 a.m— It's a quiet top of the ninth for the Rebels. Grein shuts them down 1-2-3, and Oregon will again seek to win it in the bottom half.

12:55 a.m— Grein is at 113 pitches for Oregon, but still going strong in the ninth.

End of eighth inning: Oregon 5, Ole Miss 5

12:52 a.m— Neither side can capitalize in the eighth inning. We'll head to a ninth, both teams fighting off elimination from the WCWS.

12:48 a.m— Aliyah Binford is up to five strikeouts in relief tonight. Her performance in the circle has played a massive role in Ole Miss' comeback.

12:44 a.m— The Rebels can't get much going in the top of the eighth, leaving the door open for another potential walk-off for the Ducks in the bottom half.

12:38 a.m— Since 2000, teams trailing by three-plus runs entering the seventh inning at the WCWS have won just two games, per the ESPN broadcast. Could Ole Miss join that list?

12:34 a.m— We are heading to extra innings. One hit wasn't enough for the Ducks, and Ole Miss will have a chance to complete its comeback effort as we head to the eighth.

12:30 a.m— The Ducks have blown their three-run lead. But now, they have an opportunity to walk it off with just one run. Can they redeem themselves, and their season, in the bottom of the seventh instead of extra innings?

End of seventh inning: Oregon 5, Ole Miss 5

12:26 a.m— Down to Ole Miss' last out, Jamie Mackay comes up with one one the most clutch hits of the 2025 tournament: A two-run single into left that keeps her team's season alive. The top of the seventh ends soon after, but not before Mackay can tie the game at five, adding more drama to a game that's swung back-and-forth.

12:24 a.m— Mackenzie Pickens was *this* close to one of the greatest swings of the WCWS, hitting a high fly ball to left field. But it comes up short of the wall and is caught for the second out. Ole Miss is down to its last out, but has the tying run on second and go-ahead run at the plate.

Oregon 5, Ole Miss 3

12:22 a.m— Ole Miss is within two runs after some drama. On a ground ball to third, Binford appears to be tagged out, but Flannery then loses the ball. However, the umpire calls Binford out because she was running out of the base line, so Oregon does get the first out of the inning. But the Rebels are inching closer with two runners still on.

12:19 a.m— Llamas walks on four pitches. Ole Miss has the bases loaded in an elimination game with nobody out. The go-ahead run is now at the plate against Grein.

12:15 a.m— Ole Miss is alive. It gets leadoff single from Beautae in the top of the seventh then a double from Binford, a good start with its season on the line. The game-tying run is at the plate, and its Llamas, who's been clutch all season.

End of sixth inning: Oregon 5, Ole Miss 2

12:11 a.m— Despite loading the bases, the Ducks can't capitalize. We head to the top of the seventh, where Ole Miss will either rally to keep its season alive, or Oregon will get by with a win thanks to its three-run fifth inning. We're coming in for a landing, and Grein will look to close it out.

12:04 a.m— Oregon is seeking to add even more insurance runs, and it's set up well to do so in the bottom of the sixth. Both Luschar sisters hit singles, putting runners on the corners with one out, then the bases are loaded after a walk. All momentum is in the Ducks' favor.

11:58 p.m— Grein escapes the jam after a strikeout and a flyout! The pitcher gets fired up after her huge punchout, and the Ducks will head into the bottom of the sixth still up three.

11:50 p.m— Make it two runners on with one out for the Rebels after a hit from Angelina DeLeon. Trailing by three, could this be the start of the rally that Ole Miss needs? Greiner, tonight's Ducks starting pitcher, is re-entering the game in the top of the sixth seeking to get five outs to end this one.

11:46 p.m— Sokolsky remains in for the Ducks, but she allows a leadoff single to Ole Miss.

End of fifth inning: Oregon 5, Ole Miss 2

11:43 p.m— Ole Miss finally gets out of the fifth, but not before Oregon takes full control of this game by putting up a three-spot. The Rebels have their backs against the wall as we enter the sixth.

11:40 p.m— Another Oregon run crosses the plate in a long bottom of the fifth. Kaylynn Jones hits a single up the middle to score a run and make it 5-2.

11:26 p.m— Oregon gets some more insurance, as Rylee McCoy smacks a double into the gap to score another run. Not long after blowing their slim lead, the Ducks are back in command of this elimination matchup. Lopez exits for Ole Miss after allowing four runs, two of them earned.

11:24 p.m— The Luschar sisters come through for Oregon! Kai leads off with a double for the Ducks, then Kedre lays down a beautiful bunt that leads to an overthrow to first base. The runner scores, and just like that, Oregon is back on top.

11:19 p.m— We head to the bottom of the fifth tied at two, as Sokolsky prevents any further damage. Now, the Ducks will seek to reclaim their lost lead.

Oregon 2, Ole Miss 2

11:15 p.m— We are tied! Persy Llamas knocks a hit into right field, easily scoring the runner from third, and the Rebels knot it at two runs apiece. Chambers comes out after just one batter for Elise Sokolsky.

11:10 p.m— Oregon is swapping pitchers in the top of the fifth. Grein got through two outs but has a runner at third after she hit Pone with a pitch. Staci Chambers will take over for the Ducks.

End of fourth inning: Oregon 2, Ole Miss 1

11:02 p.m— Lopez makes quick work of the Ducks to end the fourth inning. Both teams have threatened runs since the first, but neither has capitalized. Can Oregon hold on for a few more innings?

10:56 p.m— Grein gets Connors to ground out to second, ending yet another failed opportunity for the Rebels' offense. Oregon takes its 2-1 lead deeper into this game.

10:53 p.m— Ole Miss has the bases juiced with two outs and Rachel Connors, a pinch hitter, at the plate. It's a massive opportunity for the Rebels with a one-run deficit.

10:48 p.m— Grein is off to a back-and-forth start to the fourth inning. First, the Rebels' leadoff hitter reaches on a fielding error, then the pinch-runner takes second on a wild pitch. While Grein did record her third strikeout, she then walked Mackenzie Pickens to make it two runners on. Ole Miss has yet another opportunity to change this game.

End of third inning: Oregon 2, Ole Miss 1

10:40 p.m— Lopez gets out of the inning unharmed, stranding two runners in scoring position. Ole Miss remains in striking distance as we head to the fourth.

10:36 p.m— Once again, the Ducks' bats are getting warm. Rylee McCoy walks, then Paige Sinicki gets her second hit of the evening by launching a double into the gap. Oregon has runners on second and third, still holding its one-run advantage.

10:26 p.m— Grein escapes the jam in the top of the third, getting Beautae to ground into a double play, then Binford to line out. The Ducks will hold their slim lead into the bottom half of the inning.

10:20 p.m— Oregon is threatening to pad its lead in the top of the third. Taylor Malvin and Pone both reach safely after an error and a bunt single.

End of second inning: Oregon 2, Ole Miss 1

10:15 p.m— Both pitchers are starting to settle in, as now Lopez handles the Ducks' bats after allowing a leadoff walk. The second inning goes quieter than the first; Angelina DeLeon made a nice play at shortstop to close the frame.

10:06 p.m— Grein works a 1-2-3 top of the second for Oregon, holding onto the early one-run lead, including a punchout against Ashton Lansdell.

End of first inning: Oregon 2, Ole Miss 1

9:58 p.m— Oregon is on the board, and it has answered its early deficit. Dezianna Patmon comes through with two runners in scoring position, lining a single out to left field. Both runners score, giving the Ducks a 2-1 lead with two outs. The inning comes to an end soon after, but not before Oregon can take the advantage.

9:52 p.m— Luschar reaches on an error, then makes her way to second on a groundout and third on a foul out. Oregon's early tying run is in scoring position with two outs.

9:49 p.m— Already armed with a one-run lead, Brianna Lopez is on the mound for Ole Miss. Kai Luschar will get things going for the Ducks offense.

Ole Miss 1, Oregon 0

9:45 p.m— The Rebels strike first. Persy Llamas comes to the dish with two outs and a runner on third, and she delivers with a single into left-center. Ole Miss takes the lead in this elimination game before we head to the bottom of the first.

9:41 p.m— Grein notches her first strikeout after coming back from a 3-0 count, but Pone swipes second base to give Ole Miss an early runner in scoring position.

9:34 p.m— Lyndsey Grein, coming in with a 2.10 ERA this season, takes the mound for the Ducks to get this one started. But Jaden Pone reaches as the opening batter on an error at first base. They're under way in Oklahoma City.
