The Razorbacks will live to see another game at the 2025 College World Series.

Just one day removed from Gage Wood's historic 19-strikeout no-hitter, Arkansas kept its momentum rolling, defeating UCLA 7-3 on Tuesday night in an elimination matchup. Powered by shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, Arkansas is now set for a rematch against LSU, who it fell to 4-1 in the opening round of the bracket.

The Razorbacks were steady on both sides of the ball Tuesday night. UCLA came in with little time to rest, wrapping up a loss to LSU earlier in the day due to weather. The Bruins' bats were quiet with the quick turnaround. Arkansas starter Zach Root went five scoreless innings, and if it weren't for a few errors in the top of the ninth, the Razorbacks likely would have walked away with a shutout.

With Aloy hitting a two-run home run in the first then an RBI triple in the fifth, his bat was more than enough for Arkansas to advance. The College World Series bracket cut another team out Tuesday, as UCLA's season came to an end while the Razorbacks will continue playing into Wednesday.

Final: Arkansas 7, UCLA 3

10:53 p.m. — That's it. Arkansas allowed UCLA to make things way more interesting than it should've been, but either way, the Razorbacks close out a 7-3 win to fend off elimination. The Bruins' season comes to an end after their bats were quiet all night, while Arkansas got a strong outing from its pitchers, plus timely hits to build a lead. The Razorbacks will get a second date with LSU at the College World Series.

10:47 p.m. RUN SCORED — UCLA gets another run via a mistake by Arkansas. A wild pitch allows the runner at third to score, but there are two outs. Can the Bruins rally for four runs with no room for error and the bases empty?

10:42 p.m. RUN SCORED — Arkansas is giving runs away in the ninth. Another error, this one a throwing error from pitcher Will McEntire, allows the Bruins to make it 7-2. The Razorbacks have one out, but will need much cleaner defense to close this game out.

10:41 p.m. RUN SCORED — The Bruins, finally, are on the board. An error at third base allows Levu to score, making it 7-1. But UCLA has a lot more work to do to fend off elimination.

10:36 p.m. — Mulivai Levu leads off the top of the ninth with a triple, a good first step for any comeback talks for UCLA.

End of eighth inning: Arkansas 7, UCLA 0

10:31 p.m. — A pop-out finally ends the eighth inning, with the Razorbacks just needing three outs to seal this one and shift their focus to LSU.

10:22 p.m. RBI SINGLE — Another one. Justin Thomas Jr. smokes a ball into left field that scores Brent Iredale, who walked, then reached third on a throwing error while stealing second. It's been all Arkansas in this one.

10:22 p.m.  RUN SCORED — Make it 6-0 Razorbacks. Cam Kozeal walked to start the inning, eventually reached third on a groundout, then on a wild pitch, he sneaks home to give Arkansas another run. 

10:13 p.m. — Jimenez does it for Arkansas again, getting the Razorbacks out of a jam by getting Cholowsky to ground into a double-play. UCLA' momentum gets halted quickly, and it will have just one more chance to score at least five runs and keep its season alive.

10:11 p.m. — Cashel Dugger walks to begin the top of the eighth, then West makes it runners on the corners. Can the Bruins get a run on the board to threaten Arkansas?

End of seventh inning: Arkansas 5, UCLA 0

10:06 p.m. — Jack O'Connor gets UCLA out of the seventh inning, but not before Maxwell did some damage. With two innings remaining, the Bruins have their backs against the wall.

9:58 p.m. TWO-RUN DOUBLE — The Razorbacks keep piling it on. Logan Maxwell drives a ball into left-center field, and it gets into the gap and to the wall. Because UCLA intentionally walked Aloy, who drove in the other three runs today, it pitched to Maxwell, but he makes them pay. 

Arkansas leads 5-0 following the two-run double.

9:50 p.m. — Chris Grothues is coming in to pitch for UCLA, replacing Randall following a leadoff walk.

9:44 p.m. — Nothing's doing for the Bruins in the top of the seventh. Root and Jimenez have now combined for seven scoreless innings while allowing three hits, two walks and striking out seven. Arkansas will have a few chances to add insurance runs in the late innings, but if things stand, it will advance to face LSU.

End of sixth inning: Arkansas 3, UCLA 0

9:35 p.m. — Cal Randall strikes out two for UCLA in a strong sixth inning. As we head to the seventh, the Bruins have been shut out thus far though, needing a few runs to save their season and title hopes.

9:29 p.m. — Aiden Jimenez takes over pitching for Root, who tossed five scoreless, and keeps the momentum going. Once again, UCLA goes down in order.

End of fifth inning: Arkansas 3, UCLA 0

9:23 p.m. — Cal Randall came in to pitch for May following the triple and a walk, and he retires the Razorbacks with a pop-up. But Arkansas has rode Aloy's huge hits tonight, up 3-0 as we head to the sixth. UCLA needs its bats.

9:16 p.m. RBI TRIPLE — Aloy can't stop raking. He's halfway to the cycle, adding in an RBI triple after smacking a ball off the top of the wall in center field. Aloy sprints to third, making it a 3-0 game in the process. He has seven total bases tonight. 

9:04 p.m. — Delvecchio gets pulled by the Bruins after allowing back-to-back singles to start the bottom of the fifth. As the Razorbacks seek to pad their lead into the back half of this game, Ian May takes over on the bump for UCLA.

8:58 p.m. — The Bruins abandon two runners in scoring position. A walk and a wild pitch gave UCLA a chance to tie the game with an extra-base hit, but West grounds out, allowing Root to escape his second jam of the evening. He's through five scoreless frames.

8:54 p.m. — For the first time since the first inning, the Bruins have a runner in scoring position. Payton Brennan led the inning off with a single, then on a fielder's choice, he advanced to second. 

End of fourth inning: Arkansas 2, UCLA 0

8:44 p.m. — Outside of the home run, this has become a pitcher's duel. Arkansas goes down in order to end the fourth inning, and both starters have settled in.

8:38 p.m. — Another clean inning for Root. He's now through four scoreless innings, and the UCLA bats have been silent.

End of third inning: Arkansas 2, UCLA 0

8:30 p.m. — The Razorbacks also go down quietly in the third. Maxwell got a two-out hit, but they can't do anything with it, sending this game to the fourth.

8:22 p.m. — Zach Root has had a strong first three innings, now up to four strikeouts after another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the third. UCLA hasn't had much offensively since a few hits to start the game.

End of second inning: Arkansas 2, UCLA 0

8:13 p.m. — Arkansas did what it could to stack runners in the bottom of the second, but a few nice plays by the UCLA defense prevent runs. First, the Bruins turn a double-play following a lead-off single, then on a bunt for an attempted hit, Delvecchio fires a quick throw to first to get the runner.

8:05 p.m. — Root cruises through the top of the second, striking out a pair of Bruins in a 1-2-3 inning. Perhaps he got a generous call on the final strikeout, but either way, UCLA goes down quietly.

End of first inning: Arkansas 2, UCLA 0

7:58 p.m. — Delvecchio struck out two of his next three batters following the home run, but Arkansas takes a lead into the second inning.

7:52 p.m. HOME RUN — The Razorbacks are on the board first. Shortstop Wehiwa Aloy, a Golden Spikes Award finalist, sends a ball deep into right field and beyond the wall, giving his squad a two-run advantage in this elimination game.

7:50 p.m. — Cody Delvecchio takes the mound for UCLA, allowing a lead-off single.

7:45 p.m. — What a way to get out of the jam by Arkansas. West dashed in, making an attempt to steal home and take the lead, but the Razorbacks were all over it. After a review, the out call is confirmed, allowing Root to get out of the top of the first with no runs allowed. Catcher Ryder Helfrick got the tag down in lightning speed.

7:41 p.m. — The bases are now loaded for AJ Salgado following a walk. Root is in early trouble.

7:36 p.m. — The Bruins are already threatening runs, with their first two batters, Dean West and Roch Cholowsky, getting hits. They both move into scoring position after a fly out, giving Root two runners on with one out in the top of the first.

7:31 p.m. — The left-handed Zach Root takes the mound for Arkansas, and they're under way in Omaha.
