The proposed boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis has not materialized.
Davis pulled out of his planned November bout against Paul due to a lawsuit alleging domestic violence. The specifics of the accusations leveled against Davis are as follows.
Gervonta Davis lawsuit
A civil lawsuit alleging battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress against a woman who claims to be his ex-girlfriend led to Gervonta Davis withdrawing from a highly anticipated mid-November bout against Paul.
Davis faces accusations of assaulting the woman, identified as a "VIP waitress" at a Miami Gardens gentlemen's club, on October 27th; however, she asserts this incident wasn't the only one. The accuser states Davis also choked her in August and confined her against her will with a weapon at his residence in September. Furthermore, she claims Davis issued death threats in September after she declined to respond to his calls.
The lawsuit is only a civil filing, but ESPN reported a police report was also filed in Miami Gardens.
With Davis unavailable, Paul continued his search for a new opponent for a rescheduled bout and seems to have found one in Joshua.
Jake Paul height, weight
Paul's fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. In July saw him weigh in at 199.4 pounds, a reduction from the 227 pounds he carried for his heavyweight match with Mike Tyson. He is approximately 6-1 in height.
Anthony Joshua height, weight
Joshua presents a significantly greater physical obstacle compared to Davis, who weighs roughly 135 lbs, given that the former heavyweight champion stands 6-6 and tipped the scales at 252 lbs for his late 2024 fight against Dubois.
