It's time for the two best words in sports: Game 7. It all comes down to this for the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays have Max Scherzer on the mound, who is obviously not as good as he once was, but is also a gamer and can easily show up for a big game. As for the Dodgers, it is only fitting that Shohei Ohtani is their starting pitcher, as he has a chance to show the world in a huge moment just how unique he is as an athlete.
World Series Props Picks for Game 7
The Dodgers are decent favorites here, best offered at -140 on the moneyline. First pitch is scheduled at 8 p.m. With FOX on the call, and this article will detail our favorite World Series props picks.
| World Series Props Picks | Odds |
| Shohei Ohtani Over 4.5 Strikeouts | +105 on Fanatics |
| Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2+ Total Bases | +110 on DraftKings |
| Freddie Freeman 2+ Total Bases | +120 on Fanatics |
Ohtani Mows Down Blue Jays
It admittedly feels scary taking a starting pitcher prop in Game 7 of the World Series, but this line is taking into the account that Ohtani will be taken out at any sign of trouble considering how low it is. Ohtani last pitched on Tuesday, 10/28, so he can get a normal amount of rest, and despite struggling in that start he still recorded six strikeouts in that game.
He has made three playoff starts this year, and has nine, 10 and six strikeouts in those three starts. Even if we go back to the regular season, when he was throwing limited innings, he has recorded five or more strikeouts in nine of 10 starts since August. In those 10 starts, he managed five or more strikeouts in five starts in which he did not pitch more than five innings.
So, this line just seems to have moved a little too low on Ohtani, who could still get to the five number even if he only throws 4-5 innings tonight.
Guerrero Jr. Has His Game 7 Moment
With how good Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Has been in these playoffs, it is hard to imagine him going through Game 7 without making his presence felt. Even in a game yesterday where the Blue Jays could only manage one run, Guerrero Jr. Still had one HardHit and a double, which would have hit this 2+ bases prop for us.
He has recorded at least two bases in every game this series except for one, including the Game 4 start made by Ohtani. In that game, 'Vlad took Ohtani yard with a home run that traveled 395 feet and was 102.7 mph off the bat. He had two HardHits off Ohtani in that game overall, with the second one being a lineout.
This series has shown that the Dodgers bullpen should also struggle to get Guerrero Jr. Out, as he has a career.342 batting average,.684 slugging and.342 ISO rate in 38 career at-bats against this Dodgers bullpen. When it is all said and done, expect 'Vlad to have a moment tonight, and getting him at plus-money to record 2+ bases is a good price that is worthy of a sprinkle.
Freeman Shows Up for the Dodgers
It has been two quiet games in a row for Freeman, who has not recorded a base in Games 5 or 6, but the guess here is that changes tonight. Freeman has shown up huge in this series, including a walk-off home run in Game 3 in the bottom of the 18th inning. Overall, he has recorded 2+ bases in three of the six games so far, hitting it in three of the first four before missing in two straight.
It is not as though Freeman has been completely lost at the plate, however. He had a long flyout last night that was 103.1 mph EV off the bat, just got a little too much under it so the launch angle was no threat to be a double or home run.
Freeman has a lot of history against Max Scherzer, granted that was in a different lifetime when Freeman was on the Braves and Scherzer on the Nationals, so a lot of that does not apply now. That said, Freeman has hit for power off Scherzer, with a.429 slugging and.232 ISO rate. With success against the Blue Jays bullpen as well, Freeman has a great opportunity to get is to two or more bases tonight, whether it is from an extra-base hit or multiple singles.
