Siakam shines vs. Bucks

A fun rivalry has been brewing between the Pacers and the Bucks over the last couple years. While injuries on both sides have taken their toll and some of the excitement away from this game, hopefully a big game from Siakam changes that.

With all the injuries to the Pacers, Siakam has stepped up to fill the void, especially from a scoring perspective. To confirm, for those who might not know the full extent of the Pacers injuries, Tyrese Haliburton, Obi Toppin, Bennedict Mathurin and Andrew Nembhardt are all out for this game, and for most of the season for some of them.

With that thought in mind, Siakam has scored 25+ points in four of six games this year, averaging 25 points per game as well. He has two bad games with 13 and 18 points, and both of those games the Pacers got blown out, so he played limited minutes with 26 and 30 minutes. In the other four games, he 44 (39 before OT), 37, 37 and 38 minutes. Unsurprisingly, every game he played more than 30 minutes he also scored 25+ points.

The matchup has some good some bad for Siakam, but the biggest thing here is just the volume. His usage rate is 28.9%, which is absurd, and he is averaging over 20 FGA per game. Hopefully the game stays close, and Siakam can get us to 25+ points tonight.

Jokic's strong season start

Nikola Jokic started the season with four straight triple doubles before missing it last game. However, in that game he had 9 assists, so came close, but, more importantly, he had 21 potential assists. You would expect at least 10 assists on that high of a potential assist number, which bodes well for the future for this play.

Overall, the pure volume of the numbers Jokic is putting up is impressive, averaging 10.8 assists per game but 17.8 potential assists, and 14.4 rebounds on 22.6 rebound chances. It certainly is not difficult to get double digits of both of those stats with those kinds of numbers.

Luckily, the matchup is also great for Jokic in both categories. The Kings have given up the most rebounds to centers in the entire NBA, and four of five centers against them have gone over their center rebound prop. As far as assists go, they allow the 8th-most assists per game, and play at a fast pace, which just helps for general stat accumulation.

McDaniels shines without Edwards

Since Anthony Edwards has injured his hamstring, Jaden McDaniels has scored at 20+ points in two of the three games, hitting 25+ in both of those games. He had a down game last game where he ended up fouling out, but that should not scary anybody off this play tonight, considering he had gone 25+ in two straight games prior to that.

Over the last two years, McDaniels has played in six games without Anthony Edwards, and he has scored 20+ points in five of those six games. That means that only game he missed was also the last game he played, making this a fantastic positive regression candidate.

The matchup is also fantastic, going up against a Nets team that is horrendous on defense in general, but horrible in the exact ways that Jaden scores. They allow the fourth-most points to spot up shooters, THE most in transition, and 21st via FTs. That are the only three play types in which Jaden scores for the Timberwolves. Similarly, three of four players like his scoring profile have gone over against the Nets.

A 25+ ladder is not a bad look here, but we'll be safe with 20+ for the nice +190 price.
