After a decade away from Mexico, the FIBA Women's AmeriCup is making its return to the Latin American nation.

The 10-team field was set on May 10, with the tournament comprised of squads from North and South America competing at Domo de la Feria in Leon, Mexico.

Host Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico qualified through the Centrobasket Women's Championships, while Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela qualified from the South American Women's Championships. Teams from Canada and the United States complete the field.

Team USA enters the tournament as the favorite, as they're currently ranked No. 1 in the FIBA world rankings, and also No. 1 in the Americas zone. Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Argentina fill out the top five in the Americas.

The USA roster is young and loaded, and features some notable names, including LSU standout Angel Reese. Reese was part of the Kim Mulkey squad that took home the women's March Madness tournament ring in 2023.

FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2023 tournament format

The 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup is split into two stages: The first is a 10-team group stage, with the two teams with the least amount of points and the worst record eliminated after July 5.

The eight remaining teams will advance to a single-elimination knockout stage where the winner moves on and the loser goes home.

FIBA Women's AmeriCup game schedule

All 28 AmeriCup games are available for streaming on Courtside 1891. Each team is scheduled for four matchups, and one rest day, not including the tournament-wide rest day on July 6. The quarterfinals will house eight teams, eliminating only two countries from the 10-team bracket.

Team USA gets the honor of representing its country in an Independence Day game against Brazil at 4:40 p.m. ET.

Tipoff times for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are to be scheduled with the conclusion of the group stage on Wednesday, July 5. July 6 is a scheduled rest day for the teams advancing into the knockout stage. The results of each country follow at the end of this post.
