Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update: Lions star WR leaves Thanksgiving game with ankle injury image

The Detroit Lions are taking on the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, and may have to play the rest of their game without their top wide receiver.

Amon-Ra St. Brown went down in the first quarter with a lower-body injury. He was hit from behind by two of his own teammates. They took out his legs, and he fell awkwardly.

Here are the latest injury updates for St. Brown in Week 13 against the Packers.

Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update

The Lions began the second half of the game against the Packers without St. Brown. Detroit then announced that he was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

After the game, head coach Dan Campbell was asked about St. Brown. He said that he doesn't view it as a "long, long-term injury," but that the wide receiver could be out "a week or two." Campbell also said that he will know more tomorrow, Friday, but he technically won't have media availability again until Monday so the next update could come after the weekend.

St. Brown had his lower legs rolled up by two teammates. This caused him to fall awkwardly, and he stayed down. When he got up, he was helped off the field and taken straight to the locker room for examination.

St. Brown is likely to be considered week-to-week, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. His injury will not land him on the IR list.

2Jameson Williams
3Kalif Raymond -- OUT

6Tom Kennedy

St. Brown is the clear No. 1 wide receiver for the Lions. If he isn't able to return, Detroit will be down another pass-catcher, and the depth will begin to run thin with Raymond ruled out ahead of the game.

Williams is a talented wide receiver, but the name of his game is speed. He is known for taking the top off of defenses, and he is able to excel with a guy like St. Brown playing on the other side of him.

One player to watch in stepping up will be TeSlaa. While some fans know him for his interesting last name, he has had some highlight real catches already in his career. TeSlaa is a rookie out of Arkansas and was a third round pick for Detroit this year.

The Lions offense will take a hit if St. Brown can't return, but it could just mean a shift in the gameplan. With the dynamic duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, the Detroit offense could lean even more into the run.
